CSA Subscriptions

Each week, we try to include something fun and interesting in your subscription.  Of course, you’ll also get a recipe for what to do with it!  Perhaps some Mache or Dandelion Greens for your spring salad.  Or, French Flageolet shelling beans in the summer.

If eight items doesn’t seem quite enough for your household, not to worry.  We will usually have additional items available for sale.  You can even purchase Farm Script in addition to your share.  Use the Farm Script in place of cash to make your purchases.    See the Farm Script page for additional information.

To see a complete list of what we intend to grow and an estimate of when it will be harvested, see our Produce List.   You’ll notice that the list includes more than eight items each week.  That’s because Mother Nature is the final determiner of what actually grows.  We will hedge our bets by planting more items and do our very best to make it grow.  Then we’ll cross our fingers and hope that all those factors beyond our control trend in our favor.  If they don’t we’ll work with our farming friends to ensure you receive eight items in your share.

You’ll also notice that the Produce list includes something for every month of the year.  Yes, that means we are hoping to offer Winter shares too.  We’ll provide details as the season progresses.

Registration

The Artisan Organics CSA subscription begins the week of June 10, 2012 and continues for 20 weeks, ending the week of October 21^st.  Your subscription includes eight items per week and costs $500.

We ask that your pay for your share when you register.  This is because the majority of our expenses occur before you begin receiving your share.  Some of the items in your June share were planted in October of last year.  We’ve tended them all winter long!  We’d like to get paid for all of those labor hours.  Plus, we’ve got seeds, soil amendments etc. to purchase.  This amounts to many, many thousands of dollars.

We do understand, however, that not everyone is in the financial situation to make a $500 payment in one lump sum.  So, if you’d like to become a member but need a payment plan, use our Contact Us page to let us know that.  We’re happy to work something out with you.  Do remember though, that your share needs to be paid for in full by the first pick up in June.
